Abstract:
Provided are a production method for a phase contrast film and the phase contrast film wherein the refractive index in the film thickness direction is controlled, the occurrence of cracks is suppressed, and whereof the capacity to be processed is excellent. This phase contrast film is composed of an optically anisotropic layer containing: a liquid-crystal polymer having a photosensitive group, a sidechain structure capable of forming a liquid crystal structure, and as necessary a further sidechain structure having a cross-linking functional group; and a cross-linking compound and/or a flexible compound. For instance, the cross-linking compound may be a polyisocyanate-based compound, and the flexible compound may be polyalkylene glycol.
