Abstract:
The formula shows an example of the phosphole compound of the present invention. This phosphole compound has the property that the fluorescence wavelength shifts to the long wavelength side the higher the polarity of the solvent and additionally has the property of maintaining a high fluorescence quantum yield from low-polarity to high-polarity solvents. Thanks to these properties, this phosphole compound is expected to allow quantitative evaluation of the polarity of the surrounding environment based on the absorption wavelength and fluorescence wavelength, to be used as a new type of fluorescent probe dye, and to find applications as a high-efficiency light-emitting material in organic electronic devices.
