Title:
PHOSPHOR FOR DISPLAY APPARATUS, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND FIELD EMISSION DISPLAY APPARATUS UTILIZING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2006/051601
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A phosphor for display apparatus, characterized in that at least part of the surface of ZnS phosphor particles is covered with a layer of In2O3. Further, there is provided a process for producing the phosphor, comprising the steps of adding a ZnS phosphor to an aqueous solution of In salt to thereby form a layer of In(OH)3 from the In salt on the surface of phosphor particles, and subjecting the phosphor to heat treatment (baking) to thereby convert the In(OH)3 layer to an In2O3 layer. With respect to zinc sulfide phosphors used for a display apparatus, such as FED, any deterioration of emission luminance attributed to electron beams of high current density can be remedied.
