Abstract:
A phosphor composed of particles which are uniform in particle size and preferably take a globular shape and a fluorescent substance containing the same, capable of withstanding damages due to sputtering by rare gas ions, irradiation with ultraviolet rays or electron beams, or oxidation caused by heating. The phosphor is produced by using a particulate raw material for the production of a phosphor which is uniform in particle size and preferably has a globular shape, and the fluorescent substance containing a phosphor which is uniform in particle size and preferably has a globular particle shape is produced by using a phosphor which is uniform in particle size and preferably takes a globular particle shape.
