Abstract:
This water splitting system 10 is a Z-scheme water splitting system comprising water, a photocatalyst 12 for oxygen generation which is brought into contact with the water, and a photocatalyst 14 for hydrogen generation which is brought into contact with the water. The photocatalyst 14 for hydrogen generation includes a semiconductor which absorbs visible light and a metal cyanometalate loaded on the semiconductor. The water splitting system 10 may include a redox medium 16.
