Title:
PHOTOELECTRIC CONVERSION ELEMENT, PHOTOELECTROCHEMICAL CELL, AND DYE FOR USE THEREIN
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/176575
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a photoelectric conversion element and a photoelectrochemical cell that exhibit high IPCE in a long-wavelength region, achieve good photoelectric conversion efficiency, and moreover excel in durability, as well as a dye for use therein. [Solution] A photoelectric conversion element comprising, on a conductive substrate, a layer structure; the layer structure including a photoreceptor which has a layer of a fine particulate semiconductor which has adsorbed dye, a charge-transfer body, and a counter electrode; the photoelectric conversion element characterized in that at least one of the dyes has a structure represented by formula (1). (In the formula, Q represents an aromatic ring. X1 and X2 represent sulfur atoms, selenium atoms, oxygen atoms, or CR1R2. R1 and R2 represent alkyl groups. R and R' are alkyl groups or aromatic groups. P1 represents a specific group of atoms. P2 represents a group of atoms necessary to form a polymethine dye. P1 and P2 are different. W1 represents a counter ion, where necessary to neutralize charge.)
