Abstract:
Provided is a photoelectric smoke sensor which prevents an internal explosion from causing external fire, and which is configured to eliminate the need to provide resin or the like around the light emitting device and the light receiving device therein, thereby avoiding an explosion that might otherwise occur due to degradation of the resin, so that the photoelectric smoke sensor can be used in an exposed state within an explosion proof required area. This photoelectric smoke sensor is characterized in that: a light emitting device (35A) and a light receiving device (35B) are provided on the exterior of an explosion proof enclosure having a circuit housing portion (44); the light emitting device (35A) comprises a light emitting element (61) and a transparent member (A, 62); the light receiving device (35B) comprises a light receiving element (71) and a transparent member (B, 72); the gap (W1) between an inner wall surface (A, 64) and the transparent member (A, 62) and the gap (W2) between an inner wall surface (B, 74) and the transparent member (B, 72) have a width conforming to explosion proof regulations; and the length (L1) from an opening (A, 68) to the leading end surface (69) of the transparent member (A) and the length (L2) from an opening (B, 78) to the leading end surface (79) of the transparent member (B) conform to explosion proof regulations.
