Title:
PHOTOMULTIPLIER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/017983
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A photomultiplier having a microstructure for attaining stabilized detection precision. The photomultiplier comprises an envelope sustaining vacuum internally, and a photoelectric surface (22), an electron multiplying section (311), and an anode (32) are arranged inside the envelope. One or more control electrodes (320) arranged in the internal space of the envelope surrounding the electron multiplying section and the anode are electrically connected through one or more joints extending from the electron discharge end of the electron multiplying section. When a voltage applied between the electron incident end and discharge end of the electron multiplying section is applied between the electron incident end and the control electrode, a sufficient potential difference is provided between the electron discharge end of the electron multiplying section and the anode, and stabilized detection precision can be attained.
