Description:
PIECE OF JEWELLERY

The present invention concerns a piece of jewellery which is embodied to be worn around the arm or wrist of a person. The invention also concerns an assembly of such a piece of jewellery with various sets each of one or more interchangable rings for adapting the appearance of the piece of jewellery.

Pieces of jewellery such as watches, arm bands, and such are subject to fashion. In some cases fashion only changes slowly and a watch may last for many years. In other cases fashion changes quickly and after a short time the owner prefers a watch with a different appearance. Based on cost considerations the owner is however not keen to get rid of the watch and replace it by a watch with a different appearance. Furthermore some parts of the watch may get lost or break. In such cases the watch must be thrown out.

A goal of the invention is to obviate or reduce at least one of the abovementioned objections.

A different goal is to provide a piece of jewellery of which the appearance may be fully or partially changed or replaced. It is a further goal of the invention to provide a piece of jewellery which may be changed quickly and simply with regard to design, color, and/or style. It is a further goal of the invention to provide a piece of jewellery of which one or more parts may be interchanged quickly and simply.

At least one of the goals is reached in piece of jewellery as defined in one or more of the conclusions.

According to a first aspect a piece of jewellery is provided comprising:

a base case with herein a clockwork, wherein on the underside of the base case along at least a part of the circumference thereof at least one support flange is provided and on the top side of the base case a fastening element is provided for an top ring shaped closing element;

one or more rings slideable over the base case, wherein at least one of the rings is embodied to be supported on the support flange while in use;

a top ring shaped closing element which is detachably fastenable to the fastening element for locking between the support flange and the top ring shaped closing element one or more of the rings.

According to an embodiment the closing ring is embodied to extend over at least a part, preferably over essentially all, of the one or more rings while in use to shield the rings from the outside world, whereby one or more indentations have been made to make the outside of one or more of the rings visible from the outside world locally.

The closing ring is preferably provided with indentations, in particular openings, such that the ring lying thereunder becomes visible locally. In case the indentations are embodied in the form of text or other kinds of symbols, the appearance of this text or symbols may be adapted by removing the ring shaped closing element, exchanging one or more of the rings, and thereafter refastening the ring shaped closing element.

According to an embodiment at least one of the rings is embodied to be slided over the base case. The rings are preferably exchangeable and/or embodied in different colors. Herewith, in cooperation with the indentations in the ring shaped closing element, the appearance (in this case the color) of the piece of jewellery may be changed by exchanging a ring.

In certain embodiments the closing element comprises a substantially upright part and a substantially prone part adjacent thereupon. Hereby indentations have preferably been made in at least one of the upright part and the prone part.

In special embodiments the base case comprises a substantially tube shaped housing, which is fully, on the bottom side, and partially, on the top side, provided with a substantially tube shaped upright fastening element provided with screw thread for fastening thereon the closing element.

In a certain embodiment the piece of jewellery comprises a first ring to be slided around the base case and a second ring to be stacked on top of the first ring and to be supported thereby, wherein the first and second ring preferably have a mutually differing appearance.

In certain embodiments the fastening element is provided with external screw thread and the top ring shaped closing element with internal screw thread and/or wherein the top ring shaped closing element is provided with a window with glass.

At least one of the rings may be formed by colored foil.

According to a second aspect an assembly is provided of the piece of jewellery defined herein and two or more sets of the one or more rings, wherein the sets of rings have a mutually differing appearance for adapting the appearance of the piece of jewellery. The appearance can differ in various ways, for example - but not limited hereto - in color, material (leather, foil, etc.) and/or by other external characteristics.

Further advantages, characteristics, and details of the present invention will be clarified by means of the following description of a number of embodiments thereof. In the description reference is made to the enclosed figures, wherein show:

The invention concerns among other things a piece of jewellery capable of being worn on the wrist, comprising: a watch as a basis with on the top side an upright edge with screw thread on the outside. The base case wherein the clockwork resides is universal that is to say that outside the color of the clock face one base case suffices to create diverse creations. These creations may be embodied in for example a set screw on ring which may be embodied in various colors and designs besides it is possible to design the base case with various rings in various colors and designs. The crown to adjust the time is recessed in the base case such that the rings go over that, to adjust the time one must screw the rings loose such that one can reach the crown. In the bottom side of the base case there are indentations on both sides to attach the watch band by means of a“push pin” a stick pin with a fitting on both sides which can be depressed and subsequently placed in the hole which is present on both sides in the base case.

Figure 1 shows a front perspective of the base case without the screw on rings without watch bands. The upright edge is provided with external screw thread 1. On the inside of the upright edge the clockwork 2 with hands 3 resides wherein the whole is closed off by means of piece of glass 4. The crown 5 is recessed in the base case. On the bottom side of the case indentations 6 have been made on both sides to attach the watch band.

Figure 2 shows a side view of the base case. The outwards screw thread 7 serves to screw on the top ring. In the upright edge where the screw thread is positioned on the top side a piece of glass 8 is placed. The bottom side of the watch case is provided with an edge 9 on which the top ring and loose stacking rings are clamped after twisting the top ring fast.

Figure 3 shows a view with the all elements, the base case 9.1 the vertical colored foil ring 10 whch may be slided over the base case. The horizontal foil ring 11 may be placed on the horizontal plane of the base case the colors can be a unified whole but in this case also have separate colors. The top ring 12 may be provided with openwork text and figures, the top ring is slided over the foils which are positioned on the base case, bymeans of the inward screw thread 13 the top ring may be screwed fast on the base case such that the colored foils are locked up under the top ring and remain in position. The openwork horizontal 14 and vertical 15 texts take on the underlying color of the underlying colored foil(s) this way. Figure 14 shows the view of the watch with the loose elements screwed fast to a whole in this version the screw on ring with openwork texts/symbols/figures 16 and 17 which make the underlying colored foil visible.
