Abstract:
Provided are a piezoelectric-type flat speaker with which a higher than conventional sound pressure can be obtained in a low-frequency range, and a method of forming the same. The piezoelectric-type flat speaker is provided with: a flat plate 101, such as a flat display, of which the periphery is supported, where a plurality of piezoelectric actuators 102a, 102b, 102c, 102d are installed so as to be able to transmit vibrations to a first area R1 of the flat plate 101, and two piezoelectric actuators 103a, 103b are installed at two selected anti-node superimposed positions which are symmetric with respect to a center C of a lateral center line YL in a second area R2; and a drive circuit for generating piezoelectric vibrations by electrically driving the plurality of piezoelectric actuators. The plurality of piezoelectric actuators are respectively installed so as to be able to transmit vibrations to a plurality of selected anti-node superimposed positions selected from the plurality of anti-node superimposed positions at which the positions of the anti-nodes of a plurality of flexural vibrations, generated in the flat plate 101 when the flat plate is excited, are aligned.
