Abstract:
Provided are: a pigment of uniform shape, the pigment having little variation in shape or size; and an ink composition or a coating composition that uses the pigment. The pigment has two or more rotational symmetries and when observed from the direction in which the projected area of the pigment is at maximum, the coefficient of variation of the maximum length Lmax within the projection plane is 10% or lower. The relationship between D50, D10, and D90 preferably satisfies the relationship in formula (I). Formula (I): (D90−D10)/D50≤1.0
