Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a pillow that is configured so as: to make it possible to simply and easily change a posture between a supine posture and a recumbent posture; and, moreover, to make it possible to maintain the backbone in a correct position in the recumbent posture. [Solution] A pillow according to the present invention is configured into a shape having: an occipital-region receiving section 11 that could receive an occipital region 32; and temporal-region receiving sections 12 that laterally extend from said occipital-region receiving section 11 in a continuous manner and that could receive temporal regions 31 of a user. The occipital-region receiving section 11 has: a lateral width that could receive the occipital region 32 of a user 30; and a curved surface that could fit with a curve from the occipital region 32 to the cervical vertebrae of the user. Each of the temporal-region receiving sections 12 is configured so as: to have a thickness that could receive a temporal region 31 of the user 30; and to have a lateral width L corresponding to a half of the shoulder width of the user 30 so that the height of the temporal region 31 of the user in the recumbent posture could be maintained. Each of the temporal-region receiving sections 12 is configured: so as to have a bulge that could receive the temporal region 31 of the user 30 in the recumbent posture and to at least have the lateral width L, the dimension of which is equal to a horizontal length from a shoulder tip of the user 30 to the temporal region 31; and so that, by distributing a load exerted to a shoulder region of the user 30 in the recumbent posture via the temporal region 31, the backbone could be held in a correct position by horizontally maintaining the temporal region 31 of the user 30.
