Abstract:
The present invention relates to a planar light source device and a display device in which the planar light source device is used. This invention is provided with point-like light sources (1) and a light guide plate (2). The light guide plate (2) is provided, on the incident surface side, with a convex structure (21) protruding from the light exit surface side or the counter-light exit surface side on the opposite side from the light exit surface. A plurality of the point-like light sources (1) are arranged in a row. The convex structure (21) is such that a plurality of oblique circular cylinders having a semicircular upper surface are arranged in a row along the direction in which the point-like light sources (1) are arranged. The point-like light sources (1) are disposed so that a line of intersection between adjacent oblique circular cylinders and the center of a point-like light source (1) coincide.
