Abstract:
A step index type plastic optical fiber large in numerical aperture (NA), low in transmission loss over a wide wavelength range, and small in bending loss, wherein the materials of a core and a clad consist of amorphous fluororesin having substantially no hydrogen atom, and the core material uses amorphous fluororesin having higher refractive index than ever before, and /or the clad material uses amorphous fluororesin having lower refractive index than before, thereby increasing the difference in refractive index between the both materials.
