Abstract:
Provided is a plate material product manufacturing method with which low running cost is achieved and, even for thick plate materials for which machining with an inclined torch has heretofore been impossible due to limitations imposed on plate material processing machines in terms of the maximum thicknesses of plates to be cut, cutting can be performed obliquely with respect to the thickness direction of a plate material. Also provided is a plate material processing machine that uses this manufacturing method to manufacture plate material products. Following a cutting step in which an I-cut is made in a plate material in the plate material processing machine, a removal step for removing residual material generated when the I-cut is made is performed. After removal of the residual material, performed is an inclined cutting step in which a V-cut is made in the plate material with a torch inclined with respect to the plate material. In this way, inclined machining can be performed on a thick plate material for which such machining has been impossible due to limits in the maximum thicknesses of plates to be cut.
