Abstract:
Provided are: a pneumatic fender in which a prescribed shape for a main body is easily secured by smoothly inflating the area around a boundary between a trunk part and a mirror part when the main body has been loaded to a specified internal pressure; and a manufacturing method therefor. In the pneumatic fender: a cord angle A of bias-structured reinforcement layers 3 constituting a trunk part 2 is set to 25-45° when a main body 1A is in a neutral state; reinforcement layers 3, 5 are joined to one another with joining members 6A therebetween, the joining members 6A being disposed in gaps S between the reinforcement layers 3, 5 which face one another in a cylinder axial direction of the trunk part 2 and a mirror part 4; layered joining members 6A each have the same bias structure as the reinforcement layers 3 of the trunk part 2; a cord angle B of the joining members 6A is set to ±10° relative to the cord angle A of the reinforcement layers 3 of the trunk part 2; the gaps S are of a plurality of different sizes; and one-side ends E1 of the gaps S are in a plurality of different positions and other-side ends E2 thereof are also in a plurality of different positions relative to the circumferential direction of the circular arc-shaped mirror part 4 in a side view of the main body 1A.
