Abstract:
This invention provides an ultraflat pneumatic radial tire, for example, for
SUV, having an aspect ratio of not more than 55% and a tire outer diameter of not
less than 720 mm, which has improved load durability while realizing a weight
reduction without lowering driveability. The ultraflat pneumatic radial
tire comprises a carcass layer (4) formed of a single ply. Both ends of the carcass
layer (4) are folded back around left and right bead cores (7) so as to wrap a bead
filler (8). The folded part (4f) is wrapped by not more than 10% of the maximum
width of the belt layer on the inner side of the end of the belt layer (5). The hardness
of the bead filler (8) is brought to 65 to 80 in terms of JIS durometer A hardness,
and the height hb of the bead filler (8) from a bead base is brought to 10 to 20% of
the height H of the cross section of the tire.
