Abstract:
A pneumatic tire where at least an outer peripheral portion of the tread (3) is
constructed from an electrically nonconductive rubber layer (12). The nonconductive
rubber layer (12) is formed by winding and layering an electrically nonconductive
rubber ribbon (R) on the tire, along the circumferential direction of the tire.
Electrically conductive layers (13) are formed on the outer periphery of the
nonconductive rubber ribbon (R). The conductive layers (13) are continuously
and spirally extended from the bottom surface of the nonconductive rubber layer
(12) toward the outer peripheral side of the tire, along the circumferential
direction of the tire, and are exposed at the surface of the tread. Therefore,
electricity generated in a vehicle body is discharged to a road surface through
the conductive layers (13). Because the conductive layers (13) are dispersed
in the nonconductive rubber layer (12), they are reliably exposed at the surface
of the tread. Consequently, the pneumatic tire can exhibit excellent electroconductive
performance.
