Abstract:
A pneumatic tire reducing road noise without giving harmful effect on durability and rolling resistance. In the pneumatic tire, a bead filler has a triangular portion abutting to a bead core and having a substantially triangular shape and an equal-thickness portion having a substantially equal thickness while extending from the top of the substantially triangular portion to the outer side in the radial direction of the tire. The position of the upper end of the equal-thickness portion is more outside in the radial direction of the tire than a position at a distance of 1.6 times the height of the triangular portion and is away from a belt layer not less than 5 mm. The thickness of the equal-thickness portion is greater than 0.1 mm and smaller than a half time the thickness of the lower end of the triangular portion. The bead filler has rubber layers constituted of different rubber compositions. In the plural kinds of the rubber compositions constituting the rubber layers, loss tangent (tan &dgr ) gradually becomes smaller from a rubber layer on the inner peripheral side to a rubber layer on the outer peripheral side, the compositions are harder than other rubber composition abutting on the bead filler, and a relative difference in elongation at break is within 50% points.
