Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire provided with the following: a carcass with at least one ply that comprises a main ply section (6a) and a wrapped-back section (6b); and a recessed section (7) on the outer surface of the tire. The pneumatic tire is configured as follows: when combined with a rim, the maximum width (W6) of the carcass in the tire width direction is 120-135% of the distance (W8) between bead heels; the outermost edge (P2) of the carcass in the tire width direction is in the region in the tire radial direction between a position in the tire radial direction 45% of the carcass height (H) toward the outside in the tire radial direction from the innermost edge (P3) of the carcass in the tire radial direction and a position in the tire radial direction 60% of the carcass height (H) toward the outside in the tire radial direction from the innermost edge (P3) of the carcass in the radial direction of the tire; and in a rim-combined state, in which the tire is combined with the rim to be used, the tire has been filled to the regular maximum internal pressure, and the tire has no load applied to it, the value obtained by dividing the radius of curvature (R) of the carcass at the outermost edge of the carcass in the tire width direction by the height (H) of the carcass is at least 0.45.
