Abstract:

The present invention provides a pneumatic tire, in which a resin film sheet produced by making a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing a thermoplastic resin or a mixture of a thermoplastic resin and an elastomer into a sheet is used, and a cylindrical product produced by joining edge parts of the sheet to each other and then subjecting the cylindrical product to a vulcanization molding process is used as an inner liner layer or a reinforcing layer, wherein no crack is formed in the vicinity of the joined part in the resin film sheet during a step of molding the pneumatic tire and after the beginning of the running of the pneumatic tire and moldability and durability of the pneumatic tire are excellent. In the pneumatic tire according to the present invention which has an overlapped splice part formed by joining the edge parts of the resin film sheet to each other in an overlapped manner, at least one of two layers in the overlapped splice part, which are layers formed as the result of the joining of the edge parts of the film sheet material to each other in an overlapped manner, has, on the non-joined surface portion thereof, concaved parts each having a depth (D (μm)) smaller than the thickness (T (μm)) of the film sheet material, and both the joined surface portions in the two layers are made flat so that the flat surface portions are joined to each other.
