Abstract:
The present invention provides a pneumatic tire obtained having an overlap-splice section in which an inner liner comprising a film having thermoplastic resin as a main component thereof is adhered to the inner side of a carcass layer of the tire with a tie rubber sheet located therebetween, and in which edges of the film in the tire peripheral direction span the tire width direction and overlap each other with the tie rubber therebetween. A tire-cavity-side surface of the film, said surface being located on the tire-cavity side in the overlap-splice section, is formed having a depression therein such that the film thickness in the overlap-splice section is thinner than the film thickness in sections other than the overlap-splice section. Other surfaces of the film in the overlap-splice section are formed evenly between the overlap-splice section and sections other than the overlap-splice section. As a result, a tire is provided which inhibits the formation of cracks in the vicinity of the overlap-splice section of the inner liner layer, and which exhibits excellent durability.
