Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to effectively lower the air resistance of a vehicle while suppressing worsening of the air resistance of protrusions and increases in the turning resistance of a tire. In a pneumatic tire (1) in which a) the outward/inward orientation relative to the vehicle at the time of installation on the vehicle is designated, b) numerous protrusions (9) are provided along the circumferential direction of the tire on the tire side section (S) on the inward side of the vehicle, and c) numerous recessed sections are provided on the tire side section (S) on the outward side of the vehicle, the protrusions (9) have projecting heights from the tire side section (S) of greater than 4 mm and no more than 10 mm and the bending rigidity of the protrusions (9) in the latitudinal direction, formed in a longitudinal shape, is between 0.1 and 10,000 MPa∙mm4.
