Abstract:
This pneumatic tire is provided with a carcass (6) that comprises at least one ply, a bead filler (7) that is disposed outwardly of a bead core (5) in the tire radial direction, and a rim guard (10) that is located further outward in the tire radial direction than a separation point and protrudes outward in the tire width direction. In the cross-section in the width direction of the tire, the contour of a rim guard portion (10a) located further outward in the tire radial direction than the outermost end of the rim guard (10) in the tire width direction has a curvature radius of 5 to 40 mm, and a cord reinforcement layer (9) adjacent to the bead filler (7) and extending along the tire radial direction is provided. Each cord of the cord reinforcement layer (9) extends in such a manner as to be inclined with respect to the tire radial direction. The shortest distance (L1) in a direction perpendicular to the tire inner surface between the cord reinforcement layer (9) and the tire outer surface and the distance (L2) in the direction perpendicular to the tire inner surface from the apex of the rim guard (10) to the cord reinforcement layer (9) satisfy the formula 0.3 ≤ L1/L2 ≤ 0.5.
