Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to suppress the occurrence of appearance defects in a pneumatic tire. The pneumatic tire is provided with a carcass comprising at least one carcass ply that reaches from a tread section to bead sections across sidewall sections. The carcass ply is constructed by arranging multiple ply pieces in the tire circumferential direction, each ply piece being longer in the tire radial direction than in the tire circumferential direction. Adjoining ply pieces in the tire circumferential direction are at least partially overlapped with each other. Each ply piece comprises a plurality of carcass cords arranged in parallel along the radial direction, the ply piece having side edge sections disposed on either side in the tire circumference direction and a center section disposed between the side edge sections. The thickness Ce of at least a single carcass cord disposed in at least one of the side edge sections is less than the thickness Cc of the carcass cords disposed in the center section.
