Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire which makes it possible to improve bead section durability. The pneumatic tire is configured in a manner such that: a bead filler 6 is provided around the outer-periphery of a bead core 5; a wound end section 4e of a carcass layer 4 is positioned to the inside radially from a radially outside end section 6e of the bead filler 6; the wound end section 4e of the carcass layer 4 is separated from the main section of the carcass layer 4; one or more layers of an organic fiber reinforcing layer 12 is positioned in each bead section 3 to the outside of the bead filler 6 in the widthwise direction; a sidewall rubber layer 12 is positioned so as to extend from a sidewall section 2 to the bead section 3; an inside rubber reinforcing layer 15 is provided between the bead filler 6 and the organic fiber reinforcing layers 12 so as to be adjacent to the wound end section 4e of the carcass layer 4; a crack-suppressing layer 16 is positioned between the sidewall rubber layer 13 and the organic fiber reinforcing layers 12; the crack-suppressing layer 16 extends radially outward from a location overlapping, by at least 5mm, the organic fiber reinforcing layer 12 positioned farthest to the outside in the tire widthwise direction, and contacts the main section of the carcass layer 4 at a location to the outside radially from the radially outside end section 6e of the bead filler 6; and the 100% modulus KcM100 of the crack-suppressing layer 16 is equal to or greater than 1.5 times the 100% modulus SM100 of the sidewall rubber layer 13.
