Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire configured to reduce rolling resistance due to gauge thinning of a belt, and also to suppress a reduction in durability at the ends of a belt layer and deterioration of moist heat resistive adhesiveness of the belt layer. At a tire center section, the thickness of a first belt layer 5a and the thickness of a second belt layer 5b are both not more than 1.00 mm. When, at the tire center section, the shortest distance between a cord 6b of the second belt layer 5b and a cord 6a of the first belt layer 5a is noted as a, and the shortest distance between the cord 6b of the second belt layer 5b at an end and the cord 6a of the first belt layer 5a is noted as b, a and b satisfy the relationship represented by formula 1.8 ≤ b/a ≤ 4.0. Furthermore, a coating rubber 7 that coats the first belt layer 5a and the second belt layer 5b contains a rubber component that includes natural rubber, a resin component, and a sulfenamide vulcanization accelerator.
