In order to improve the durability of a bead portion, in a pneumatic tire (1), two end portions of a bead core (21) in the direction of width of the tire are respectively formed by vertical lines (25) extending in a radial direction of the tire; with respect to the vertical lines (25), the length CV of the vertical lines (25) is within the range of 31% or above and 45% or below relative to a core height CH; and with respect to a first layer (31a), a second layer (31b) and a third layer (31c) of the bead core (21), in every two adjacent layers (31), the number of bead wires (30) of the layer (31) located on an outer side of the tire in the radial direction is two or more than the number of bead wires (30) of the layer (31) located on an inner side of the tire in the radial direction, and the mutual offset of the bead wires (30) located at the ends of a single side in the direction of width of the tire is half of the number of bead wires (30). In the first layer (31a) and the second layer (31b) and in the second layer (31b) and the third layer (31c), the sides where the mutual offset of the bead wires (30) is half of the number of the bead wires (30) are opposite each other in the direction of width of the tire.
