Abstract:
Disclosed are a point cloud sequence encoding/decoding method and apparatus based on two-dimensional regularization plane projection. The encoding method comprises: obtaining reference frame point cloud data and current frame point cloud data; performing two-dimensional regularization plane projection on the reference frame point cloud data to obtain a first two-dimensional projection plane structure, and performing two-dimensional regularization plane projection on the current frame point cloud data to obtain a second two-dimensional projection plane structure; performing motion compensation on the basis of several pieces of first two-dimensional map information obtained by means of the first two-dimensional projection plane structure and several pieces of second two-dimensional map information obtained by means of the second two-dimensional projection plane structure, and performing encoding to obtain code stream information of the current frame point cloud data; and repeating the described steps till the encoding of all the frames of the point cloud sequence is completed. According to the present invention, the correlation of the point cloud sequence in a time domain and a spatial domain can be greatly utilized for encoding of the point cloud sequence, the time domain and spatial domain redundancy of the point cloud sequence is reduced, and encoding efficiency is improved.
