Abstract:
A polarizer, a polarizer array, a controllable polarization method and apparatus, and an electronic device. The polarizer comprises a plurality of polarization units, wherein each polarization unit comprises a first liquid crystal cell (301) and a second liquid crystal cell (302), which are arranged in a stacked manner; each liquid crystal cell (301, 302) comprises a liquid crystal layer (3013, 3023) and alignment films (3012, 3022); the alignment films (3012, 3022) are respectively connected to an electrode layer (30112, 30212) which is used for applying an external voltage to the liquid crystal layer (3013, 3023); the first liquid crystal cell (301) and the second liquid crystal cell (302) of each polarization unit can be respectively controlled to be "turned on" or "turned off", and the orientations of the alignment films (3012) of the first liquid crystal cell (301) of each polarization unit are different from each other; and in the same polarization unit, when a liquid crystal cell is in a turned-on state, emergent light of the polarization unit is polarized light in a polarization direction. The polarizer comprises a plurality of polarization units, such that emergent light of the polarizer is polarized light in a plurality of polarization directions. When the polarizer is directly arranged in the front of an optical lens, the resolution of the optical lens is not affected, and the production cost is low.
