Abstract:
A polarizer for backside disposition which comprises: a polarizing film constituted of a uniaxially stretched polyvinyl alcohol resin film having a dichroic dye adsorbed thereon and oriented; and a resin film superposed on at least one side of the polarizing film. When the surface of the resin film on the side opposite to the polarizing film is rubbed with steel wool so as to make 10 reciprocations under the conditions of a load of 250 g/cm2, a stroke width of 5 cm, and a rate of 50 reciprocations/minute, then the surface has 10 or less scratches. The polarizer is to be disposed between the liquid-crystal cell and backlight of a liquid-crystal display device. A liquid-crystal panel and a liquid-crystal display device which include the polarizer are provided.
