Abstract:
A polarizing membrane which is formed by having iodine adsorbed and oriented on a polyvinyl alcohol film, and which contains a compound that has a nitroxy radical or a nitroxide group. This polarizing membrane exhibits excellent suppression effect on decrease of the single transmittance due to coloring of the polarizing membrane in a high temperature environment.
