Abstract:
Provided is a polarizing plate capable of maintaining excellent optical characteristics even in a humidified environment. This polarizing plate has: a polarizing film made of a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin film; a protective film disposed on at least one side of the polarizing film; and a sealing part covering the peripheral end faces of the polarizing film and the protective film. In an embodiment, the thickness of the polarizing film is 8 µm or less. In an embodiment, the moisture permeability of the sealing part is 300 g/m2/24 hr or less. In an embodiment, the polarizing plate has a color loss amount of 100 µm or less after being held in an 85°C and 85% RH environment for 120 hours.
