Abstract:
[Problem] To reduce warping of a liquid crystal panel in a high temperature environment while easily manufacturing a liquid crystal display apparatus while reducing warping of the liquid crystal panel in a normal temperature environment while reducing deficiencies when actually being used. [Solution] The present invention provides a polarizing plate set comprising a viewing side polarizing plate disposed on a viewing side of a liquid crystal cell and a back surface side polarizing plate disposed on a back surface side of the liquid crystal cell, wherein: the viewing side polarizing plate is provided with, in the following order, a first protective film, a first polarizer, and a second protective film; the back surface side polarizing plate is provided with, in the following order, a third protective film, a second polarizer, and a luminance improvement film; a difference obtained by subtracting the thickness of the back surface side polarizing plate from the thickness of the viewing side polarizing plate is 13 µm or less; and a difference obtained by subtracting the thickness of the second polarizer from the thickness of the first polarizer is greater than 0 µm and 5 µm or less.
