Abstract:
A poly(alicyclic olefin) characterized by containing repeating units represented by the general formula (1). The polymer gives a resin with a low permittivity and a low refractive index. (1) (In the formula (1), l is 1 to 2; m, n, and o each is an integer of 0 to 5, provided that m + n = 1; X represents a direct bond, oxygen, sulfur, CH¿2?, CO, SO, or SO¿2?; R?1¿ to R?4¿ may be the same or different and each represents hydrogen, fluorine, CF¿3?, C¿1-10? alkyl, or C¿6-20? aryl; R?5¿ and R?6¿ may be the same or different and each represents hydrogen or C¿1-10? alkyl; and R?7¿ and R?8¿ may be the same or different and each represents fluorine, CF¿3?, OCF¿3?, C¿1-10? alkyl, or C¿6-20? aryl.)
