Abstract:
Polybenzazole fibers are produced in which, when a Cls peak obtained by photoelectron spectrometry is peak-separated by a treatment with a pulse electric field applied under a pressure near atmospheric pressure, a main peak accounts for up to 70% of the entire Cls spectrum, interfacial adhesion friction coefficient with respect to epoxy resin is at least 0.5, and interlayer shear strength with respect to epoxy resin is at least 10 Mpa, and which has a fiber strength of at least 5.0 GPa and a fiber modulus of elasticity of at least 150 GPa. The obtained polybenzazole fiber is adhesive and useful as various industrial materials.
