Abstract:
The present invention relates to: an aromatic polybenzimidazole into which a protecting group is introduced; a method for producing a membrane using same; and use thereof and, more particularly, to a method for producing a polybenzimidazole membrane, comprising: a polybenzimidazole preparation step of preparing an aromatic polybenzimidazole; a polybenzimidazole salt preparation step of modifying some of the repeating units of a main chain of the polybenzimidazole into a salt form; and a step of preparing a polybenzimidazole in which a protecting group is introduced into an amine group, through reaction with the polybenzimidazole salt, and use of the produced polybenzimidazole membrane as a polymer electrolyte membrane that can be used in a fuel cell or a redox flow battery.
