Abstract:
Provided is a polycarbonate resin decomposition method by which a polycarbonate resin can be decomposed with high reactivity even under mild and low-environmental-load conditions. Moreover, provided is an alkyl aryl carbonate production method by which a polycarbonate resin can be decomposed even under mild and low-environmental-load conditions and dialkyl aryl carbonate can be efficiently obtained. Provided is a polycarbonate resin decomposition method in which a polycarbonate resin is decomposed in a slurry-like reaction solution containing the polycarbonate resin, an aromatic monoalcohol, an aliphatic monoalcohol, and a catalyst. Moreover, provided is an alkyl aryl carbonate production method including: a polycarbonate resin decomposition step for decomposing a polycarbonate resin in the presence of an aromatic monoalcohol, an aliphatic monoalcohol, and a catalyst; and an alkyl aryl carbonate collection step for collecting alkyl aryl carbonate generated through the decomposition of the polycarbonate.
