Abstract:
A polyester-based-fabric hook-and-loop fastener having an ear section, configured such that: the hook-and-loop fastener has a base cloth that is a fabric configured from warps, engaging-element threads interwoven parallel to the warps, and wefts, all of which are made of polyester-based threads, and also has numerous loop-form or hook-form engaging elements present on the obverse-surface side of the base cloth, the engaging elements being formed from engaging-element threads and standing erect from the obverse surface of the base cloth; the wefts include a thermally fusible component; bases of the engaging elements are fixed to the base cloth by the thermally fusible component; and an ear section, in which no engaging element is present, is present at each of two end sections of the base cloth that are parallel to a warp direction, wherein the hook-and-loop fastener is characterized by satisfying configurations (1) and (2). (1) The base-cloth-thickness-direction length of the warps that sandwich the wefts and are positioned over/under the wefts, at a location that is farthest downward on the reverse-surface side, is no more than 0.94 times the same thickness at a location that is farthest upward on the obverse-surface side. (2) At least one ear section among the ear sections present at the two end sections is formed by cutting and removing the base sections of the engaging elements.
