Abstract:

Provided are: polyester binder fibers which have improved adhesive power; and a fiber structure containing the polyester binder fibers. (1) Polyester binder fibers which contain a polyester and 0.1-5.0% by mass (based on the mass of the polyester) of a polymer having a repeating unit represented by formula (1), and which have a crystallization temperature of from 100°C to 250°C (inclusive) as determined by differential calorimetry. In formula (1), each of R1 and R2 represents a substituent that is obtained by combining arbitrary atoms selected from among C, H, N, O, S, P and halogen atoms; the sum of the molecular weights of the R1 and R2 moieties is 40 or more; and n represents a positive integer. (2) A fiber structure which is obtained by bonding polyester main fibers with use of the polyester binder fibers.
