Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention is a polyester degradation method. Specifically, the polyester degradation method disclosed in the present invention comprises the following steps: degrading a polyester under the action of a carboxylic acid and a catalyst, the polyester containing repeating units formed by a dicarboxylic acid and diol, and the catalyst being a Lewis acid and/or a sulfonic organic acid. The degradation method of the present invention has a wide application range, a resulting product dicarboxylic acid is easy to separate and can be used in resynthesis of the polyester, the catalyst can be recycled and reused, a resulting product diol dicarboxylic acid ester can be reduced by hydrogenation to form a carboxylic acid that can be repeatedly used for polyester degradation with the catalyst in a degradation liquid, so that the industrial benefits of polyester degradation are maximized.
