Abstract:
Disclosed is a polyether represented by the following general formula: R(-O-Xn-Zm-Y)p [wherein R represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 20 or less carbon atoms which may have an aliphatic unsaturated bond or such a monovalent hydrocarbon group further having an ether bond; n is 1-200 and m is 0-200, while satisfying 0 < n/(n + m) ≤ 1; X represents a group derived from a ring-opening polymerization of a glycidyl ether; Z represents an alkyleneoxy group having 2-6 carbon atoms; p is 1-6; Y represents H, a monovalent hydrocarbon group or acyl group having 20 or less carbon atoms which may have an aliphatic unsaturated bond, or a glycidyl group; and the arrangement of X and Z is random or the like]. In this polyether, one or both of R and Y have an aliphatic unsaturated bond, and the molecular weight distribution polydispersity is 1.25-1.00. Also disclosed is a production method wherein a glycidyl ether, or alternatively a glycidyl ether and an alkylene oxide having 2-6 carbon atoms are subjected to a ring-opening polymerization in the presence of a monovalent to hexavalent alcohol.
