Abstract:
In this polyethylene terephthalate-based hook-and-loop fastener: a fabric in which multifilament threads comprising polyethylene terephthalate are used as warp threads and polyester-based thermal-fusion-bonding multifilament threads are used as weft threads is used as a fabric base; monofilament threads comprising polyethylene terephthalate are woven into the fabric base parallel to the warp threads; on a surface of the fabric base, there are hook-shaped engagement elements that are formed from the monofilament threads and rise from the surface of the fabric base; and bases of the hook-shaped engagement elements are fixed to the fabric base by a melt-solidified thermal-fusion-bonding constituent of the thermal-fusion-bonding multifilament threads. The fastener is characterized in that the melting peak temperature of the warp threads as measured by differential scanning calorimetry is within the range 251.0–257.5°C.
