Abstract:
The polymer particle production method according to the present invention comprises: (i) a step for causing a dispersion A5 of polymer particles A3, containing the polymer particles A3 formed from a polymer which is synthesized through emulsion polymerization using a first organotellurium compound as a polymerization control agent and in which a structure including an organotellurium group 1 at a growth terminal is controlled and containing a first solvent 4 in which the polymer particles A3 are to be dispersed, to be mixed with a reactant soluble to the first solvent 4, and removing the organotellurium group 1 from the growth terminal of the polymer, to obtain a liquid mixture 8 containing a second organotellurium compound 6 generated from a reaction between the reactant and the organotellurium group 1 and containing polymer particles B7 having less of the organotellurium group 1 than that in the polymer particles A3; and (ii) a step for separating the liquid mixture 8 into the polymer particles B7 and a solution 9 in which the second organotellurium compound 1 is dissolved.
