Abstract:
Facing sides of strut edges (3a) of a strut (3) that constitute a pair and that are linked to a link (2) are provided with a plurality of branching pieces (3b) protruding from one strut edge (3a) towards the other, and a plurality of ratchet teeth (3c) are formed along the sides of the branching pieces (3b). When a polymer stent (1) composed of struts (3) and links (2) forming a mesh is deformed in the diameter expansion direction of the cylindrical shape thereof, the pair of strut edges (3a) deform so as to approach one another, the branching pieces (3b) overlap one another, and the ratchet teeth (3c) interlock. Due to the interlocking action of the ratchet teeth (3c), while it is possible for the struts (3) to deform in the diameter expansion direction of the cylindrical shape of the polymer stent (1), deformation in the diameter contraction direction is inhibited. In so doing, the polymer stent (1) formed to cylindrical shape has a configuration that inhibits diameter-contracting deformation, and is adapted to indwell in blood vessels that have branches.
