Abstract:
According to the present invention, a polymerizable composition which is characterized by containing, as essential ingredients, (A) an alkali-soluble resin and (B) a polymerizable compound that has at least one polymerizable functional group in the molecular structure, and which is also characterized in that at least one of the resin (A) and the compound (B) has a mesogenic skeleton, is able to be used as a material for photospacers, and the like. By using this polymerizable composition and various members for liquid crystal display using this composition, the contrast of a liquid crystal display element is improved in cases where the composition is used in a member for liquid crystal display, and especially, not only the contrast but also the response speed of a liquid crystal are able to be improved if the composition is used as a material for photospacers.
