Abstract:
In the polyphase electric motor drive device of an embodiment, a first main circuit is connected to a first winding of a polyphase electric motor, and AC power is supplied to the first winding on the basis of a first pulse width modulation (PWM) signal modulated using a single-phase PWM method. A second main circuit is connected to a second winding, and AC power is supplied to the second winding on the basis of a second PWM signal modulated using the PWM method. A first control unit supplies the first PWM signal, which is based on a first voltage reference and a first carrier signal, to the first main circuit. A second control unit supplies the second PWM signal, which is based on a second voltage reference and a second carrier signal, to the second main circuit. In the first control unit and the second control unit, in which a first AC phase based on the first voltage reference and a second AC phase based on the second voltage reference are in a same-phase relationship or a phase relationship that is comparatively close to the same-phase relationship, the relationship between the first carrier signal phase and the second carrier signal phase is a reverse-phase relationship or a phase relationship that is comparatively close to the reverse-phase relationship.
