Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to provide: a binder for a lithium ion battery negative electrode which uses a high capacity active material and which makes it possible to produce a negative electrode having excellent cycle characteristics; and a slurry for forming a lithium ion battery negative electrode mixture layer which uses the same. The present invention also provides a lithium ion battery negative electrode and a lithium ion battery which, by using the same, have excellent charge/discharge characteristics and have a longer cycle life. Provided is a lithium ion battery negative electrode wherein: polyphenylene sulfide having a specific controlled median size is used for a negative electrode binder as a binder to bind a negative electrode active material, an electrically conductive auxiliary agent, and a collector; and the compositional ratio of polyphenylene sulfide in a slurry for forming a negative electrode mixture layer is used suitably. Thus, it is possible to impart excellent charge/discharge characteristics and a longer cycle life to a lithium ion battery.
