Abstract:
A polysaccharide nanosheet according to the present invention is formed containing a plurality of fibrous substances. Polysaccharides are the main components of the polysaccharide nanosheet. The plurality of fibrous substances are oriented in a planar direction in randomly selected regions on the surface of the polysaccharide nanosheet. A composition and molded article according to the present invention comprise the polysaccharide nanosheet. A method for producing the polysaccharide nanosheet includes subjecting woody biomass, which is a starting material, to a delignification treatment by using an oxidizing agent and an acid catalyst in a solvent to obtain a liquid substance containing a polysaccharide nanosheet having a thickness of 500 nm or less and an aspect ratio of 10 or higher.
