Abstract:
A porous aluminum sintered body which is obtained by sintering a plurality of aluminum bases (11), and which is characterized in that: the outer surface of each aluminum base (11) is provided with a columnar projection (12) that protrudes outwardly; the porous aluminum sintered body has a bonded portion (15) where aluminum bases (11) are bonded with each other through the columnar projections (12); a Ti-Al compound is present in the bonded portion (15); and a eutectic alloy phase containing Al and Si is present in the surface layer of the bonded portion (15).
